Satoh Small Tractor Facts and History

The Satoh Company based in Japan

The early S650G model dates back to the early 1960s. Satoh’s tractors made for America all had S model numbers and all of Satoh's tractors had an animal name. S-300 series is called Beaver. The S-400 series is Buck The S-500 series is Elk S-630 series is Bull and the S-650-G and 670 are called Bison.

The tractor for sale on this site is a Bison.  All Satoh series tractors with a G at the end means it uses gasoline.

Satoh officially merged with Mitsubishi in 1980. Mitsubishi continued to provide Satoh model parts for another 25 years. Leftover Satoh tractors in the U.S.  stock were issued new Mitsubishi decals, and certain models continued to be sold into the late 80s as “Satoh by Mitsubishi.”

Many of the Satoh tractors sold here had two-cylinder diesel engines made by Mitsubishi. Gray market tractors -- tractors used in Japan and resold as new in the US -- were sold under both the Satoh and Mitsubishi names.
