1950s -- Girls wore full skirts held out like ball gowns with stiff petticoats. The in-girls even wore two petticoats
for a more full look. By the 1960s, girls could barely walk though narrow doorways without shifting their skirts similar
to the way Southern Belles did on their old plantations.
